Wilford Hall USAF Area Medical Center - San Antonio, TX  John’s career essentially began in the field of healthcare construction on the Wilford Hall USAF Area Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. This 1.2mm square foot, multi-phase project consisting of new clinic and patient rooms, renovations to the existing facility and considerable sitwork infrastructure required close coordination and planning in order to construct the new facilities adjacent to the existing, operational facility without any interuptions to their existing services. It also presented numerous challenges in the phased renovations that John developed into Best Practices and Lessons Learned that were implemented by his co-workers on subsequent healthcare projects. Children’s Medical Center of Dallas - Dallas, TX  This project was also a multi-phased project including the construction of new clinic, patient room, surgery and mechanical space along with renovation of the existing clinic and patient room spaces for different uses. The project began with the construction of a new parking garage to clear the site for the new clinic and bed tower space. Then an expansion of the Surgery Suites, adding four new suites adjacent to the existing eight suites, expansion of the central plant to provide services for the existing and new spaces and a three-story vertical expansion of the existing clinic space prior to being able to begin the main building expansion. Close coordination and constant communication with the Owner’s team and staff were required in order to maintain ongoing operations without interuption. Notable Healthcare Projects:
