MCIWorldCom Northern Virginia Operations Center-Sterling, Virginia
This facility was a cast in place multi-building corporate headquarters originally designed for UUNet, a wholly owned subsidiary of WorldCom. The project consisted of 11 owner occupied buildings totalling 1,305,000 square feet and 3 precast parking garages, a 50,000 square foot data center and 75,000 square foot Network Operations Center (NOC) was designed in the main building. The construction budget for this facility was $227MM and had enough area within the 131 acrea site for expansion. 

Museum Place Building B1 - Fort Worth, Texas 
Although this 45,750 square foot project could be considered small in comparison to some others John was responsible for, the locistics of it were beyond comprehension. Sitting within the triangular corner of Camp Bowie and 7th streets in the Museum District of Fort Worth, this building consumed the site from property line to property line. During peconstruction, John proposed a unique cost and time saving approach to the structure with a concrete podium with structural steel frame above. This benefitted the ground floor retail/restaurant space allowing better sound insulation value and opportunities for exposed structure for the ceiling. Aditionally, it worked to the benefit of the schedule whereby the podium was completed while the steel was being fabricated. This building was considered the crown jewel of the Museum Place Development being the first thing you saw coming from five directions. The curtainwall facing the south was designed to slope outward six feet, from the property line at the second level to the roof lie, to reflect images of the Modern Museum of Art across the street.
